Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter
What do you know about Noah’s Ark Animal Shelter in Trinidad?
If you’ve heard the name, but you’re uninformed about the work of the shelter to help pets in the area, read on.
You can adopt a great dog for $50 and a sweet cat for $15 any day of the week except Sunday.
Between the hours of 8:30 and 12:30 go down Main Street to Chestnut. Turn at the post office and go down to the river walk where you’ll turn right and drive back to the shelter by the soccer field.
If you already have a dog or a cat needing to be spayed or neutered, call Pat or Lucy at 680-2385 to obtain a voucher. You’ll get $25 off the vet’s fee for an operation on a cat and $40 off for a dog.
Call the same number if you’d like to receive their free newsletter, “Noah’s Bark”.
Check with Pat or Lucy if you have feral cats in your neighborhood because you can become a sponsor in the Trap/Neuter/Release program. You’ll get free spay/neuters for the cats, a trap to get them to the vet, and further tools and information. So far fifty-five people have signed up to help in this program.
Noah’s Ark is a non-profit organization with emphasis on adoption programs, spay/neuter population control, development of a new county-wide shelter, education in local schools on animal issues and community involvement.
Do try to support Noah’s Ark with a monetary donation, items for the animals at the shelter, or donate your time to walk the dogs. And please get the word out about our need for a new, bigger, and better county-wide shelter as this is a crucial necessity for the Trinidad, Las Animas County area.
